Racers and fans from all over Michigan came in full-force for the
inaugural "Outlaw Street Drags" event at Ubly Dragway this past Saturday
June 23rd. This first event was named
"Opie's All-Out Memorial Drag
Racing Event"
in memory of Adam "Opie" McIntosh.
Adam was a 26 year-old Flint area mechanic who was known as "King of the
Street" by many
of his racing friends who accompanied him to area
racetracks and car cruises. He was killed
in a shooting incident
while working on his car at a car cruise last summer. Hundreds of those
friends were on hand at Ubly Saturday to celebrate his life.
When the smoke cleared Saturday, it was obvious that it was the
Flint-area racers who wanted the trophies the most. They dominated the
action, with finalists in 8 of 10 divisions. Overall, 13
of the 20
awarded trophies went to the Flint area.

Every year in Memory of our Son Adam Ryan
McIntosh, aka Opie, That was his nick name was Opie, we hold a
scholarship event in his name, 100s and 100s of Flint area Racers
showed up for our sons memory and took home
all the trophies, they
won in every event even the burnout contest were Won by our group of
racers, nobody can beat the Flint racers, these guys Rocked.....view

the bumper that says SPEED, and Adam Dad is racing it.....we did 10

Sunday June 24 Michigan Motorcycle Drags had a great turnout as well with over
130 motorcycles racing. Class winners included Lisa Holt of Livonia
and Dave Cox of Lenox Township. ABATE Region 7 match race winner was
Darrel Peruski of Ubly, as Harley-Davidson motorcycles won all three
divisions.
